Hearkening back to the Great Big Vegetable Challenge, we are up to the letter C, which currently stands for...

CABBAGE

What's your favorite way to consume cabbage? Cole slaw, I daresay, is [livejournal.com profile] grindar's favorite. I'm fond of cabbage in egg rolls and sauerkraut (which I've never made from scratch). How about some other ideas?

GBVC commentors have thus far suggested any of these or this among others. I am not a big fan of sausage, but other dead animal suggestions will be entertained. :)

I just like to hack off a slice and eat it raw with a little salt. Sometimes I change up between red and regular. Mmmmmm, I also love saurkraut....with or without the sausage!

Not fond of Saurkraut, but boil it, then fry it up with a bit of butter with potatos and corn beef and life is good.

I like sauer kraut, but never have reason to eat it since it's usually paired with meat that I don't eat.

I had a friend make cabbage and tempeh stirfry one time that was DIVINE.

Stuffed cabbage rolls, of course. I've made a vegetarian version of this before that wasn't bad.

Oh yes, and a bit of red cabbage chopped in with other greens for salad. Yum!

My favorite way: Boiled cabbage, served with a drizzle of apple cider vinegar. Otherwise, use it in any Asian derivative and I will enjoy it.

Is this a New England thing? It was my father's favorite way of eating it, as was my grandmother's, but since moving South I have never met anyone else who had tried it.

(Of course, the looks on people's faces when I put salt on oranges is priceless, too.)

Mmm, my grandmother makes cabbage rolls that are really good :-) But, I like just regular cabbage cooked in bacon. Not a fan of sauerkraut.

Spring greens sliced up and steamed or done in the pressure cooker then served plain alongside a roast dinner... or on their own with a little butter and salt, yum.

Corned beef and cabbage rocks. But I <3 a bit of raw cabbage dipped in some apple cider vinegar and then sprinkled with salt.
