"Like a normal outdoor market in Indiana in the summertime."

~ Mike Pence, Indiana Republican, commenting on his recent bulletproof-vest-clad visit to a marketplace in Baghdad.

John Kenney of the LA Times skillfully agrees. ;)

Uptight Men of the World:
you have nothing to fear from vibes and lube.

First, gay men like other gay/bi men. The thrill of the chase isn’t about subduing unwilling prey. They don’t want your skanky ass, all flabby from thumping the bible instead of… well, anything else.

Second, vibrators are your friend. Don’t fear them – embrace them! Even the best carpenters use powertools. (See – a Manly Metaphor.) Also, read the Song of Solomon more often if you need inspiration.

~ Bug_Girl, blogging at Memoirs of a Skepchick on the rationale behind Alabama's dildo ban (such laws are usually made by uptight hetero men who fear both gay men and "vibrators, because they think sex toys will do a better job stimulating women than they can.")

"We need to be teaching cooking in the schools again. It is a life skill, and it is the beginning of eating well. You are at the mercy of processed food otherwise. They are going to create food that will lie to you."

~ Michael Pollan, in an article from The Colorado Springs Independent

AMEN, BROTHA!

The heavens opened and the angels proclaimed, “Fear any literate man, capable of impressive facial hair, who is comfortable on boats, has a thing for finches, and is named Darwin, for he is basically an unrighteous phony. So it is said in the very literal Kingdom of God.”
