Writer's Block: Bombshell alert!

Um, wut? Like it's any of my business? Like anyone knows the truth about what went down except the people involved? Like I CARE?
Is dumb question.
To take this to a more personal level, if it was a *friend* of mine, I would care. If people have made promises they don't intend to keep, they shouldn't be in that relationship with those particular mutual agreements. I've made promises I later realized I couldn't keep, and (eventually) extracted myself from the relationship. Goodness knows I'm not perfect - I understand that people make mistakes. But you have to be honest with yourself before you can be honest with anyone else. Sometimes that is surprisingly difficult.
We grow, we change, we try, we fail, we try again. I imagine "celebrities" are just like us in that respect - except we don't have 50 gazillion people gleefully studying our every misfortune under a media microscope.
Salacious gossip is ugly, no matter where it comes from or who it's aimed at.

I do not like...
Books: Anything on the bestselling fiction list. Or just about anything considered a "classic" which is litspeak for "will want to make you slit your wrists halfway through."
Movies: Just about anything that gets an Oscar best picture nomination. Emotional dramas. Gross-out slasher films. Shaky-cam faux documentaries. Movies about pretty blue people who need a great white saviour for some inexplicable reason (coff coff).
Do I feel left out of media conversations? Very often. I don't read enough sci fi to be a sci fi FAN so I can't talk books. I do watch blockbuster movies, so that's not as painful.
Mostly, however, I have learned that my lack of television watching is what makes me feel more left out than anything else. I like a lot of programs (Psych, Leverage, Middleman, White Collar). But there are NONE that I watch religiously enough to fall into the FAN category. And so, I am relegated to nodding and smiling politely when friends go on and on and on about Supernatural, Dollhouse, et al.
I don't know anyone who loves Bollywood the way I do. Welcome to my atypical tastes.

My teddy bear, Brownie. He meant everything: love, family, safety, peace.
My grandmother gave him away when I was 17, while I was visiting my parents. She did that with almost all of my childhood toys (except the ones I hid). I never in a million years thought she'd give away the damn teddy bear that I'd had since I was two. I mean, she still had my mother's teddy bear at the time, which was at least 30 years old.
Guess I was different.
Never forgave her. Never will.

First of all, I'm still laughing too hard at the concept of "baseball-playing vampires" to take this seriously. Second of all, I've never read any of the "Twilight" books because the excerpts I've seen have sent me into paroxisms of retching and/or hysterical laughter. Thirdly, I don't know anything about the MLB.
But look - I've written something! The prompt worked!

Bah. Lucy & Ricky SUCKED ROCKS as a couple. I hated that show because of their relationship.
EDITED
OK, due to a thoughtful reminder from
dr_nebula, I really need to revise my answer. Gomez & Morticia Addams are truly the greatest TV couple that ever was or will be. They obviously loved each other. They displayed their affection frequently and publicly. And they were kinky.
They ARE the perfect couple, and everything I've ever wanted to emulate.
*eternal swoon*
(But I do like Moonlighting with David & Maddie as well - especially the "Atomic Shakespeare" episode. :)

How I got on LJ

Once upon a time, many years ago, I was on this internet information mailing list called The Internet Tourbus. (And I'm still on it. :) The semi-weekly text newletter highlights interesting websites and gives good advice. They also used to talk about squirrels a lot.
Anyhow, at some point in early 2001 (2000?), the 'bus mentioned LiveJournal so I checked it out and signed up. In April 2001, I made my first tentative post.
I'd written in paper journals for ages, but I was losing the time and patience to keep up with them around then. Typing is so much faster. And then there was/is the whole neato "community" aspect - being able to read what other people are writing, and share what I'm writing - that takes a journal to the next level, into blogdom.
Honestly, I don't think I've written a word in a paper journal since then. LJ is my journal and my letter writing and my entertainment and my pensieve. I have a permanent account. I like it here.
