At the Gates of AiG There were two mounted police officers by the gate, six police cars clustered right off the highway, and at least one cruiser passed our group every five minutes. I think they were expecting trouble. |
One of the first things we noticed on the way in was a plane towing a sign. I was sure it was from AiG... |
But it was one of ours! Go DefCon! You can see DefCon's video of the event here! |
There were several speakers, including the Friendly Atheist himself, Hemant Mehta! He was charming and awesome. :) |
Robin picked up a sign and dove right in waving and smiling at people driving by. |

Dude, there is nothing more reasonable to me than a man in a Utilikilt. |
Our numbers were not legion, but there were quite a few people there! |
And we had a really rocking band - the Blue Rose Rocket Band. AiG had a puny choir singing at us, but we drowned them out. :) |
FSM FTW! |
A few military veterans were there, and they brought posterboard so folks could make their own signs. |
Which is exactly what Robin and ![]() |
The local Baptist church brought us water. Bless their hearts. |
Good times, in spite of a couple of evangelicals who showed up right before we left (the guy standing in the road here is one) and kept trying to provoke an assault so protesters would get arrested. Trying to balance out the Baptists' good works, eh? |
You can see a sneak peek inside the Answers in Genesis museum here, thanks to a fellow EKU student! RAWK!
