Irony... IDiots are unclear on the concept

Scientist, professor, and fairly well-known science blogger PZ Myers was expelled from the theater this evening whilst quietly waiting in line to see the movie Expelled.

OH THE IRONY!!!

But you really must read his telling of the tale, because the punchline is PRICELESS.

It gets even funnier, however, if you go to the Expelled website and watch the trailer. The very first thing they show is a quote from Dawkins.

Meyers was in the movie too! He's feeling pretty mighty today, being a bigger threat to the creationists than Richard Freaking Dawkins. ;D

I had not heard of this movie; I thought Ben Stein was supposed to be pretty intelligent -- but he is one of the intelligent design folks?

That is TOO GOOD about Dawkins getting in to the theatre and Meyers being given the boot. Ironic, though, that a film that decries the suppression of free speech and thought would not allow some people to even see it.

I was very sad to find out about it, cuz I've always loved Ben Stein. His game show was my favoritest!

It's disturbing that anyone can get yanked out a theater line by uniformed policemen for no good reason. That would've scared the heck outta me.

There is apparently another side to the story that he was protesting before entering the theater and that he was asked to leave by theater management (not a producer). Because Dawkins wasn't being disruptive, he was admitted.

I think the truth probably lies somewhere between the two accounts, but who knows.

Wow. I'm with altamaha on this one. Ben Stein? Who knew? And being evicted from a theatre for no reason? Very bizarre. I mean, I guess it private property so technically legal, just morally wrong. Yuck. I'll never be able to look at Ben Stein again....
