razzleccentric: (WoW Hunter)

I knew about this, but haven't had a chance to comment on it: Big Red Kitty quit blogging last week.

He was an inspiration. He was abrasive. He was quite a smart ass. He was way too raiding/PvP/theorycrafting/numbercrunching-focused for my personal taste, but there was still something just so damned inspirational about his writing.

He brought the hunter pride. He was a bold voice of representation for a class that will always, I suppose, bear the stigma of "easy-mode" and "huntard" because so many people who don't give a damn about the intricacies of the class or the beauty of WoW seem to choose it. Those of us who truly love the mechanics and synergy of playing a very diverse pet class had - for a while - a damn fine, loud-mouthed champion in BRK.

He's moving on to put his family first (the most noble cause there is) but the World of Warcraft blogging community will be a bit less rich, less outspoken, and greatly saddened without his posts and podcasts.

And there’s a hand, my trusty fiere!
And gie's a hand o’ thine!
And we’ll tak a right gude-willy waught,
For auld lang syne.

That is a damn shame. i was a subscriber and enjoyed his style. My hunter was better because of him. Hope he is well. that's one of the oddities of the whole podacst thing. The impact he had was much greater than the compensation he received. so it goes... On another note i'm switching to City of Heros, as it is as fun but much less time intensive. If you wanna super it up, lemme know!
