My Big Fat Podcast Addiction Part IV
Mar. 8th, 2007 04:51 pmCELTIC MUSIC PODCASTS I NEVER MISS:
The Irish & Celtic Music Podcast with Marc Gunn
This one started it all for me. An excellent combination of traditional folk, Celtic rock, and instrumentals hosted by the imitable Marc Gunn of the Brobdingnagian Bards. Excellent.
The Cleveland Celtic Podcast
I really like Wendy Lee, the host of this one. Tending a little more towards the Celtic rock side, this podcast also features the occasional interview. Am I a bad person for not liking the interviews? If it's a music podcast, I wanna hear tunes, dammit!
Celtic Folk Podcast
Hosted by Al Mann in Georgetown, Kentucky (!), this fairly-new podcast is still growing. It used to be just two or three songs long but they're gaining momentum with five or six! Their website is very posh. Last show they highlighted Alan Reid's new album.
The Renaissance Festival Music Podcast
Also hosted by Marc Gunn! Yup, all your old and new Rennie favorites, guaranteed to make me go misty-eyed sometimes as I drive over the hills and far awa', yon beyond the cows...
Of course I've heard of cows!
I DO NOT LIKE...
Um, so far I haven't found a folk podcast I don't like.
I'M GONNA TRY...
FolkAlley.com's Alleycast
Not only Celtic folk, and that's OK. :D I really enjoy Folk Alley when I'm on the computer and remember to tune in. Looks like their podcast is a once-a-month event, but that'll be one more fun musical podcast to look forward to.
If you have any folk-y music podcasts to recommend, please do! I like Celtic, Americana, blues, some bluegrass, world music...
