Thank you for the long-term aid relief info! It seems like everyone is jumping on the "do something now bandwagon" and that's GOOD, but...as a guy who was interviewed on NPR pointed out about Katrina and the Tsunami, once the initial shock and dismay wears off, the donations dry up and that's when people start needing help again and they don't get it. Once the pain and despair of loss really hits home a few months later, most people rushing to aid victims of The Tragedy Now have moved on.

Keep an eye on Kiva.org as well. Right now they're just starting to hear back from their lending partners in the Dominican Republic (who support Haiti). Eventually they may be able to offer lending opportunities to help Haitians rebuild.
